System-Regulated Liquor
"It makes the worlds go 'round"
Of the many government enterprises owned and operated by the System, the one most lauded and despised is System-Regulated Liquor (S.R.L.), aka "Government Booze." Though an attempt to provide S.R.L. vouchers to those on System Support was short-lived, the liquor is incredibly cheap and remains tied to the poor in common parlance. "If you're S.O.L. you drink S.R.L." is a popular phrase.
Strong and rough, according to most palates, S.R.L. is available in four types, distilled from different sources; yellow (grain), green (vegetables), blue (?) and red (fruit). The bulk of ingredients are surplus agricultural tax. What blue S.R.L is made of is under dispute, and it is the lowest-selling version, despite being the most palatable. The alcohol by volume percentage varies among the four types.
To simplify product identity in a customer base comprising of multiple races and worlds, each S.R.L. type is identified by colour only. This practice is reflected in the design of the label. The only text is "S.R.L." and the tagline "It makes the worlds go 'round".
