Mother Port
In something as complex as TheSystem, there will be a conflict of different technologies. If a Tegrah scholar wants to share information with a Tchg peer, how will they transfer the data between differently designed systems? Or, in a place as metropolitan as a library, how will the various texts and files from all ends of the system and centuries of time interface with a patron's notebook or console? Easing transfer of data is the Mother Port's speciality. Multiple forms of the MP exist, from a simpler (and cheaper) four or eight port affair, specialized in local hard connections and air channels to the true Mother-of-all-Ports, found mostly in learning institutions, libraries and other scholarly places. The dodecagon (12-sided polygon) is hooked into a main frame, its twelve sides each particular to a time and/or place, allowing connection to almost any known device.
