FTL
"Faster-Than-Light". A type of space-ship drive.
There are multiple levels of FTL drives. A traveler may take an A-class ship to a station or dock from one sub-system's planet to another, transfer to a B-class that ferries them to a larger orbiting station in the next system, where they transfer to a C-Class.
A-Class
Drives used for inter-solar system trips.
Examples
- Scout ships
- Most privately-owned ships
B-Class
Drives used for shorter solar system to solar-system trips.
Examples
- Patrol ships
- Corporate or conglomerate ships
C-Class
Drives used for multiple solar system trips that span over long distances and time.
Examples:
- Tourist passenger ships
- Exploration ships
